Mediascope is a trade marketing agency specializing in New Tech, Data Collection & Data Analysis and automation, brand activations, integrated campaigns and creative solutions for a wide range of clients. With solid experience in multiple industries, the agency offers personalized services, from strategy and creation to implementation and performance measurement. BR sat down with Dragoș Bocai, CEO & Founder Mediascope, and found out more about how the year started for the agency, what they offer differently, important trends, as well as what clients really want.
How was the start of 2025 from a business point of view?
We opened the year the same way we open every brief – by putting a cross-functional squad around the table, then working ourselves like dropping the clutch on a 911 at dawn: zero to 100 in one breath.
The result: two regional trade-marketing retainers signed before mid-March, rolled out seven retail activations already and witnessed an 18 % revenue increase versus Q1 2024. Those numbers matter, but what really counts is that each project was backed-up by expertise: delivery teams from strategy, design, tech and production sitting side-by-side from day one. That kind of teamwork is our driving engine. That tells me the market appetite for premium, data-driven experiences is stronger than ever.
What are the most important changes & novelties in the agency for 2025?
Mediascope Disrupt. Our in-house app now lets trade teams launch a nationwide promo from a single dashboard.
ESG Production 2.0: Modular POP built from recycled substrates; water-based inks only.
CEE exclusivity & roll-out for Videri Digital Canvas. Screen networks that can be installed in 72 hours, powered by our own content lab. We can deploy a turnkey interactive screen network anywhere in Central & Eastern Europe in 72 hours.
If you call me on Monday, by Thursday night your store’s ceiling can look like the northern lights. All three upgrades started as answers to challenges encountered in former implementations. We decided to focus on bettering up working together to turn needs into solutions backed up by tech.
What do you offer differently than the competition?
We control and complete trade-marketing delivery under one roof—from insight, to concept, to prototype, to shop-floor installation, and finally to live data. Because our designers share viable ideas directly with our carpenters and developers, prototypes appear in ten days, not ten weeks. That saves budgets and, more importantly, gives clients real-time room to optimize. A deck on Monday can, given approvals, turn into a working prototype by the following Monday. We don’t sell pretty mock-ups—we deliver ready-to-ship solutions, priced and measured against real-world ROI and ESG metrics.
This looks like an intense year for marcomm. Same for Mediascope?
Yes, but our intensity is structured. We run fixed sprint calendars, shared across teams and clients. That transparency keeps everyone aligned and prevents burnout. The market is volatile in CEE, but uncertainty brings opportunities, especially for professionals and reliable partners
What about the pitches?
We’ve been selective—five pitches so far, three wins, one in final talks, one we politely declined because things didn’t align. Saying “no” is part of staying sharp.
What do you wish for the second half of 2025?
That quality becomes reflex in our industry. When brands hold the bar high, every partner in the supply chain—agencies included—raises their own standards. Better communication from the clients’ side regarding results – any agency/client who is not sharing campaign results to the team is doing malpraxis. Too many times clients buy media, agency tries to fit in requirements but never work together (agency + media) to do creative work which performs, not only respects tech requirements.
What do clients ask for most, and has that changed?
They want frictionless trade activations that feel premium on every channel. Over the past years, they asked for innovation and sustainability. This year they ask for innovation and sustainability, proven by data. They also want rapid prototype cycles so they can learn faster and invest smarter.
How do you approach them?
A one-day co-creation workshop, a working prototype in ten, data feedback in fourteen. By keeping all disciplines in the room, we shorten feedback loops and amplify each team’s expertise. It’s my version of the reset-to-T0 trick: stop over-thinking, build something you can touch, then polish. It compresses “pitch to reality” and builds trust fast.
Campaigns you’re most proud of and why?
Madrí Excepcional beer launch, on the Romanian market – For Madrí Excepcional, we re-imagined in-store visibility with digital-first displays that broadcast the brand’s vibrant Mediterranean personality at every touchpoint, contributing to an impactful launch: #madetobeseen Results – 4 million share-of-voice contacts in the first eight days, 4.3 million unique digital users, 14.6 million total impressions, 88 new trade locations, 1 600 branded displays across modern and traditional retail, and 11 000 hl sold in the very first month—98 % of the full-year volume target delivered in thirty days.
Henkel 30 Years anniversary campaign, on the Romanian market – we offered shoppers a hands-on journey: direct interaction with innovative POSM materials, dedicated product-testing zones, and personalized micro-experiences inspired by real moments in consumers’ everyday lives for 30 years of Henkel products on the Romanian market. #madetobeseen Results – The campaign attracted a record number of participants for Henkel in Romania. Consumers engaged in significant numbers, both online and on-shelf. The results achieved reflect not only the popularity of Henkel’s ranges, but also the effectiveness of Mediascope’s approach, which successfully combined special placements, digitalization and direct consumer experience with the participating brands.
Digital Playgrounds @ UNArte: we encouraged students to load over 75 pieces of digital art onto six types of installations with digital canvases for real time feedback. We achieved the goal of turning a gallery into an immersive lab. That’s purpose meeting tech so that learning accelerates. This is the beginning of a partnership with a specialized academic environment and the foundation of a #madetobeseen Innovation Lab that we want to develop together with UNArte.
Coors Thermo, CEE project – A regional challenge for our Creative team for a global initiative to amplify Coors’ unique Thermo ink feature—where the mountain turns blue when the beer is cold. The project simplifies and sharpens the visual communication with a “Cold Beer Guarantee” banner and enhanced gradient, making the cold-activated cue clearer for consumers. It strengthens Coors’ cold-refreshment promise without straying from the brand’s established look, supporting its growth as a global challenger brand. #madetobeseen Results – “A key to thermo communication” as a toolkit developed by Mediascope for the whole CEE region.
Latest trends arriving in marcomm and why?
Circular pop-up retail will rely on modular builds that adapt, relocate, and never reach a landfill, meaning components are recovered after each activation—dismantled, refurbished, or redeployed elsewhere.
Programmatic DOOH at the shelf edge basically applies the same rules as online advertising to physical screens.
AI is set to become the ultimate creative co-pilot, and zero-party data journeys are likely to increase—when an inspiring touch point prompts customers to share information with brands on their own terms.
Data ethics must also sit front and center—consumers finally care how their data is used, and brands must care too.
To sum up, it all boils down to one thing: serving the shopper with relevance and respect.
Where do you see the industry’s main problems and how can they change?
Too much volume, too much noise —plus the temptation to “green-wash”. The cure is teamwork around clear KPIs: commercial, experiential and ESG. If every stakeholder shares the same dashboard, weak spots surface early and get fixed.
What will be this year’s mark?
Fewer activations, but executed better. This means a return to quality-over-quantity as the only sustainable growth lever. Brands that cut 30 % of noise and reinvest in memorable design will own the conversation.
Media trends in 2025?
Shoppable video that moves from reel to till, hyper-local audio, and DOOH screens networked like the web. All united by one data layer so trade and brand teams finally speak the same numbers.
Main DON’Ts in 2025 and why?
Don’t claim innovation without a prototype shoppers can touch. Don’t cut sustainability corners—Gen Z watches your carbon tire marks. And don’t let AI publish unedited; it still needs human discipline.
What drives your daily passion for advertising?
That T-zero moment when a “can we even do this?” brief sets, we build it with the team, and two weeks later it’s a working installation changing how people feel in front of a shelf—or in restaurant, hotel, beach or arts gallery. The mix of teamwork, talent and technology is why I come to work.
